About the project

In Radiolab We Trust is a limited, affordable set of prints by five international artists, designers and illustrators - Jez Burrows, Frank Chimero, Nicholas Felton, Meg Hunt, and Impactist - the profits from the sale of which (after some scant printing and packaging costs are reclaimed) will go entirely to Radiolab and WNYC, New York Public Radio.

These are Gocco prints - Gocco is a hand-printing process similar to screen-printing - on 100% recycled 300gsm stock. Each print is stamped and numbered on the reverse, and each set of five is housed in a translucent envelope, numbered in an edition of only 50. Prints are C5 sized (160mm wide by 223mm tall).

About Radiolab

Radiolab is radio show and podcast concerned with science, culture, philosophy and most things in between. It's probably also one of the best things ever given away for free (WNYC is a publicly-funded station). It's a show that encourages discussion and thought on fascinating topics and does so with verve, poignancy and humour. Find out more at radiolab.org

About the artists

Jez Burrows is a designer and illustrator living in Edinburgh. His print refers to the show 'Detective Stories', in particular a segment involving a cow, a goat, and a fascinating lady named Ella.

Frank Chimero is an illustrator and graphic designer standing in the middle of a wheat field in the middle of the United States. One time he heard the RadioLab episode 'The Multiverse' and it left him feeling very tiny for the rest of the day.

Nicholas Felton may be a scientist trapped in the body of a graphic designer. He is undoubtedly a Radiolab booster. His design is inspired by the Voyager Golden Record episode ('Space'), and strives to make this recording's invisible sounds visible.

Meg Hunt is an illustrator. She makes colorful pictures and listens to things that warm her ears; one of these things is definitely Radiolab. Her design is based on the story in the 'Emergence' episode about synchronized fireflies which led to wondering/hoping if they send secret messages too.

Impactist is the collaborative work of directors Kelly Meador and Daniel Elwing. In response to the episode 'Space', their print contains a coded language of a fictitious civilization based elsewhere in our solar system. To solve the cryptology, a key is contained within the design which stores factual mathematical, chemical, text, and visual data that in total tells a story of a living race reaching out to the cosmos.
